Salaam Namaste

This movie made me laugh till I had a tear-drenched face and serious stomach cramps. A daring move in hindi cinema with an interesting idea. Though the hilarious segments will be good for watching with the family, there are other segments that probably won't go down well with the seniors in the family, like the close-up tongue-hockey scenes of Nick and Ambar in particular. Not to mention the ideas of premarital sex and co-habiting. Good cinematography as well and every bit worth the money paid for the tickets.

I'll probably purchase the movie when it comes out on dvd, mainly for its intense tickling effect. The songs were superb too, and of coz "My Dil goes Mmmmmm" is my fave. Besides the humour, the aspect that I particularly liked in the movie was the way Saif's character, Nick, almost unwittingly kept on doing things for Preity's character, Ambar, which showed how much he loved her. It kind of renewed my faith in the boundless potential for love in a relationship. Lately, I had kinda lost faith in the existence of true love in the face of the practicality of real life.

The movie didn't exactly prove anything, all it did was remind me that true love will always exist, and just coz I see and feel things that imply otherwise, that need not necessarily be the case. Its an undescribable experience to just simply feel that kind of love for someone. If you've felt it before, or currently do, then you'd know how heavenly it feels. Though its nice to enjoy that kind of love back from someone, its also soothing in a weird painful sort of way even if you don't; just loving a person like that can make your world a wonderful place to live in.

Sigh...maybe I've been spending too much time reading the Chicken Soup for the Couple's Soul....... or maybe its too much time spent thinking of soul medicine.........

Inspired.......to ride away into the sunset

Fuzz has hit upon some inspiration. He woke up this morning with his mind set on making a trip up north into Malaysia with his beloved Ayesha.

For those not in the know, Ayesha isn't his wife or girlfriend....or maybe she is in a way...she's his trusted CB400 Super 4. Laugh if you want, he doesn't care. (Damn.....why am I talking in the 3rd person like a certain good friend of mine?) erm, ok, like I was saying, I don't care if you think naming my bike is weird, coz she's not JUST a bike. She's got feelings and moodswings too. Trust me, when she's in a bad mood, she's well capable of giving me a real hard time! And when she's in good spirits, I get a top-of-the-world feeling riding her......erm....enough details I suppose. People have come, and people have left, but she's been ever so reliable a companion and stayed with me all thru the past 5 1/2 years whilst humans I thought would stand by me regardless of whatever test left me high and dry. (Albeit at times I've been abit pissed by the expenditures she's caused me.) Nevertheless, every penny spent on her has been worth it. She's been there to provide me with the company of a good ride into the horizons to reflect and do some soul-searching everytime I've needed such a moment.

Back to the point.....actually, the trip is not something I came up with only this morning. I've been wanting to go on one since a long long time, but for one reason or another, it never quite happened. But this morning, with more determination than ever before, I decided that this hols, I was definitely going.

Destination: Somewhere in M'sia thats for sure. Malacca, Ipoh, and Penang are some shortlisted points. Not to the city and the concrete jungle thats for sure. Shopping malls are definitely not on the list of stopovers, but the odd trip into town for food/chilling out could be possible. Thinking of avoiding KL as a stopover; have already seen so much of it so many times (unless of course any of my M'sian friends are at home in KL and I cld visit them). The only place in KL that might interest me wld be Klang, coz I've never been there before, and I've got quite a few friends from there that I'd like to see the places they grew up in. I want to take a route with a good mix of little village and mountain roads as well as some parts of the highway. Village/mountain roads for the scenery and to provide the setting for an extended journey of soulsearching. A little bit of the highway to flex Ayesha's muscle and race against the wind now and then. She looks innocent, but she can be a real mean machine when she wants to and burn some rubber :)

Duration: Currently it looks likely to be a 3 day 2 night trip, but that cld change, depending on budget restrictions. It cld extend to a longer trip.

Accommodation: No big hotels. Cheap motels in the villages is what I have in mind, but this has to be chosen with great care with Ayesha's safety in mind. I'd hate to return to S'pore with just a helmet and a bike key to remember her by.

When? Anytime between Nov 19 and the Dec holiday season. The holiday season is one of the worst times to be in M'sia as a lone biker.

Though planned to be on a tight budget, the trip will be designed to feature stopovers at exciting places like waterfalls, interesting sights of nature, etc, and of course, food joints dishing out exhilarating food, especially seafood (this is where the budget gets thrown out the window :p).

I know that travelling alone on a riding trip is not the best of ideas, but I couldn't find anyone with similar agenda as me. The bikers from SBF and SRF seem more keen on hitting the highway at average speeds of 150km/h and getting from point A to point B in the fastest time. I, on the other hand, intend to travel at slower speeds and relax, except maybe for occasional bouts of speeding to quench the insatiable thirst for an adrenaline rush. Amongst my closest friends, there aren't any bikers (well, there's Jackie, but she doesn't have a bike now) or anyone whom I think wld want to come with me as a passenger. There are pros and cons of travelling alone as well as travelling with company. But if YOU are interested and think YOU share my agenda, then let me know. Company is most welcome and safer too.

I've started a little scrapbook collating data of sorts relevant to the trip. Contents of the book include among others the following key checklists:
- a maintenance checklist to ensure that Ayesha is in the best possible condition for such a trip
- a list of important items to bring along
- info on possible destinations, hotels/motels
- valuable tips from experienced riders who make frequent trips up north

hehe....Fuzz is excited beyond all description.......
